How to find the work you’re GRATEFUL to do

Hi there!

Let’s talk about loving what you do today.

Earlier this week — as I was ‘commuting’ to Point Reyes, listening to the Time Away playlist, and feeling so excited about the day ahead (I had plans for my client and I to meditate on a mountain, make desire lists on the beach, have a gorgeous seaside lunch, etc) — I realized I was having a miracle moment.

I used to commute to a corporate office, which felt entirely different. I felt like I was living the wrong life – it was viscerally off for me. I wish that corporate life worked for me, but it just didn’t.

Now, I feel grateful to do what I do. I love coaching people. LOVE IT. I cherish my clients and am obsessed with helping them achieve their goals. It made me want to say this:

Find the work you’re grateful to do.

Find the work that fits you like a glove.

Find the work you can’t believe they pay you to do.

Find the work it’s hard for you to stop doing.

Find the work that energizes you.

Find the work that comes easy to you, but others call it masterful.

Find the work that’s true for you.

How do you find it? Try this:

• Look back through your performance reviews. What are you good at?

• Look at what you did last week. Which parts were fun?

• Consider what comes naturally to you.

• Notice what you get complimented on a lot.

• See where you lose track of time and yourself.

• Reflect on what you’d LOVE learning more and more about (like forever maybe)

This is where your magic lies. Just because you love it and it comes easy doesn’t mean it doesn’t count – it’s what you should be doing!

Align yourself to what you love and what comes naturally to you. That’s the path of least resistance and most impact. You’ll still need to overcome challenges, but you’ll have the motivation to do it.

If you want more structure, look into the Zone of Genius and ikigai concepts.

To making work feel less like work,
