It’s only half way through the year

Every second half of the year, there’s a lot of noise along the lines of: “Can you believe it’s already July!? Where did the time go?!”

I’d like to reframe this a bit.

There’s still SO MUCH of 2026 left.

Imagine where you were in January.

Making plans for the year, coming off of the holidays, just getting back into the swing of work.

What’s changed since then? What have you accomplished since then? How have you grown?

You’ve experienced tremendous change, I’d guess, and there are six big months still to go.

You could do truly anything in a six-month time frame.

Start paying off your debt, recenter your focus on the relationships that matter most, slow your lifestyle down and enjoy more space, or put the pedal to the metal and end the year strong.

The point is – 2026 is far from over. Don’t listen when people say the holidays will be here before you know it. There’s a gigantic amount of time left to make 2026 everything you want it to be.

Around this time of year, I like to take a step back and check in on my priorities. Personally, the first half of the year was busy. We had an amazing honeymoon, I hosted two retreats, two dinner parties, one fundraiser, visited with each of my parents twice, looked after a slew of 1:1 clients, and filled our Time Away group.

In the second half of this year, I’m focusing on my 1:1 clients, our Time Away group, writing with my co-author, and enjoying the socks off of summer. That’s it!

It’s a less-is-more season for me, so instead of filling extra time with more work projects, I’m focused on planning river rafting days when I have time. That’s the value of doing a quick check in on your priorities. You see how you might want to shift your focus.

What’s important to you for the second half of the year? If you could wipe the slate of current commitments clean and start fresh, where would you put your focus?

Happy early 4th – wishing you freedom to make the rest of this year what you wish.
